Our story

Every Celebration Begins with a Feeling

Mark and Kari's devotion to celebration didn't begin as a business. It began as a shared pastime, a quiet joy in making ordinary days feel extraordinary for the people they loved, long before it ever became a career.

That early devotion grew, over decades, into a conviction that still guides every event they design today: nothing worth remembering is ever templated. Each celebration is imagined from the very beginning, shaped entirely by the story of the people hosting it, and brought to life with a level of craftsmanship more often found in fine art or custom architecture than in event design.

    Every Celebration Begins with a Feeling

    Long before the first candle is lit or the final bloom is placed, an M|K celebration begins somewhere quieter: with a feeling. A mood a host has been imagining for months, sometimes for years. Golden light falling across a lawn at dusk, laughter drifting from a candlelit table, the particular hush just before guests arrive and a familiar space becomes something entirely new.

    Nothing ordinary, everything considered

    No design is ever asked to repeat itself. The way light falls across a tablescape, the fabric chosen for a single evening's table, the finish on a custom bar: every detail is shaped around your story. Nothing sourced off a shelf, and nothing left ordinary.

    Wherever the occasion calls, wonder follows

    Some evenings call for candlelight and black tie. Others ask for bare feet, salt air and an unhurried afternoon by the water. A wedding, a milestone birthday, a graduation, a holiday gathering, a beachside celebration: each becomes something entirely signature.

    Where vision becomes reality

    Before a single guest arrives, we take the time to understand not just how a space should look, but how it should feel to walk into. It's why hosts step into their finished celebration and softly remark that it looks just like the picture.

    We set the stage, then we stay for the show

    On the day, we arrive early to set everything in place and check every detail until it is impeccable. Then we stay close through the celebration itself, quietly tending to each moment so the evening flows smoothly, looks beautiful and feels exactly as you imagined it.

The hands behind the magic

What makes an M|K celebration feel effortless is, in truth, the opposite of effortless. Mark and Kari personally lead the creative vision behind every event, sketching original designs, drafting CAD-rendered spatial plans and overseeing custom builds that exist nowhere else.

From there, they draw on a carefully curated network of the finest local florists, craftspeople, musicians and culinary talent, carrying a celebration seamlessly from first vision to final production.
