Twenty-seven years of building big ideas

About
Our story
My name is Mark Alan Sandberg, and for 27 years I had the privilege of founding and leading a creative think tank, a full-scale manufacturing facility, and teams across a large organization. Together, we designed and built remarkable things across retail, hospitality, corporate experience, innovation and trade expos, anything and everything where we needed to create big ideas and then bring them to life.
In that role, I was fortunate to partner with some of the most beloved creative brands in the world, including Disney, Mattel, Walmart, Nickelodeon and Marvel among many others. I helped shape entire retail store environments and strategy, from flagship concepts to intimate shop-in-shops for Walmart, Party City, Marks & Spencer, Spotlight, FAO Schwarz and Toys R Us.
Then the world changed. Through all those years I had always quietly dabbled in custom creations for friends and family, the kind of one-of-a-kind projects you pour your heart into. So I made a decision: do what I love most, for the people I know. Today I create for friends, neighbors, and the interior designers, builders and architects who come to me with big ideas for their clients and need someone who can bring them to life.
None of this would be possible without the people, and pup, who keep me going: my faithful studio companion Huxley at my feet, the friends who cheer me on, and most importantly my wife Kari, whose love, patience and belief in the work mean everything.

Work
Selected projects
From whimsical playrooms to heirloom tables, tailored vanities and hand-crafted beds. Every piece is tailored to a vision and built with intention. What do you want to build next?
Process
Our Process
Every commission moves through six distinct stages. We take our time at each one. The work, and the relationship, are better for it.
01
The Conversation
A first call about your space, how you live in it, and the piece you have in mind. No agenda. Just a good introduction.
15–30 minutes
02
The Visit
When the project warrants it, we come to your space. We measure, photograph and listen. The room often tells us as much as you do.
Standard for furniture, optional for smaller pieces
03
The Studies
We come back with two or three concepts: different directions for the same brief. None of them are final. The point is to give you something specific to react to, and to let your room talk back.
Two to three weeks after the visit
04
The Proposal
Once you've chosen a direction, we write up the formal proposal: final dimensions, materials, finishes, timeline and the number. You'll see exactly what we're proposing before any commitment is made.
One week
05
The Build
Your piece moves into the studio. We share progress photos at key milestones if you'd like to see the work underway.
Four to twelve weeks, varies with the piece
06
The Install
Delivery, placement and a care guide for the first year. We check in at twelve months.
White glove, by appointment
